Mark Lewisohn (* 1958 ) is an author and Beatles - biographer .

After he had published his book "The Beatles live" in 1986, which contained all Beatles appearances in chronological order and in annotated form, in 1987 he received permission to use the original Beatles multi-track recordings of all sessions from 1962 to in Abbey Road Studios 1970 to listen. He incorporated this unique insight into the Beatles' studio work as well as numerous interviews with contemporary witnesses into his next book “The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions”. Here he listed all Beatles recordings in chronological order and commented on them. This book was published in the exact format of a LP to fit next to the Beatles record collection. He combined the findings of his first two books in his book "The Complete Beatles Chronicle". All three books are among the best publications on the subject of "The Beatles", since before Lewisohn no one was allowed to publish anything through the Beatles archive.

Since then Lewisohn has largely commented on all Beatles booklets since 1987, including the Past Masters Vol. 1 , Past Masters Vol. 2 albums and the anthology albums . He also wrote the accompanying texts for Paul McCartney's newer CDs. Lewisohn previously worked as an editor for McCartney's fan club magazine, Club Sandwich.

Among other things, Lewisohn wrote the foreword to Andy Babiuk's “Beatles Gear” and the German Beatles book “Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand” by Thorsten Knublauch and Axel Korinth.

Lewisohn is currently working on a Beatles biography in three volumes, which he is looking forward to completing in 2018. The first volume was published in October 2013. An expanded version followed in November 2013.

All of Mark Lewisohn's works have so far been published in English only.
