Marrow camp

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Medullary lager is a name for the central white matter that is located in the brain of more highly developed animals below the cerebral cortex as the centrum semiovale or in the cerebellar body (the corpus cerebelli ) as the corpus medullare cerebelli .

It mainly contains nerve fibers , which are used for communication between nerve cells , and other glial cells . The partial term “marrow” in the word “marrow” refers to the myelin - or “marrow” - sheathed nerve fibers containing myelin , which are lighter in color than the gray-pink appearing cell bodies of the nerve cells.

The medullary bed is also shown brighter on T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), since it is more signal-intensive than the cerebral cortex. With a T2-weighted MRI, however, the medullary bed shows less signal than the cerebral cortex, which is therefore shown lighter.
