Markus Gsell (born February 15, 1985 ) is a former Swiss football player.

Gsell played in his youth at FC Bazenheid and then at FC St. Gallen . In 2003 he moved to FC Wil , where he played in midfield until 2010. In June 2009 he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture after tearing it in 2004, after which he had to take a six-month break. These numerous injuries, he never played an entire season, finally forced him to retire early at the age of 24. He then worked as a youth coach at FC St. Gallen, but gave up the office and works as a fitness trainer.
