Markus Schätzl

Markus Schätzl (born September 15, 1995 ) is a German ice stock athlete from the discipline of ice stock sport .

career

Schätzl learned to shoot long at his home club, SV Oberbergkirchen. Under his coach Christian Englbrecht , Schätzl developed into a youth national player. As a U-23 junior shooter, he was able to become world champion in curling in 2016. He became German champion for the first time in Oberbergkirchen in 2018 and was able to defend his title in Unterneukirchen in 2019 . He succeeded in the feat of shooting the long-range course three times in a row.

style

Schätzl's long-range style is characterized by immense power and less by technical perfection. Shooting speeds of 66 km / h are not uncommon.
