Marmion Abbey

Marmion Abbey is a Benedictine abbey of the Swiss-American Congregation in Aurora, Illinois . It was founded in 1933 by the St. Meinrad Archabbey in Indiana . It is named after the Benedictine abbot Columba Marmion, who was beatified in 2000 . The main task of the 28 monks of the abbey today is the Marmion Academy , as well as a variety of tasks throughout the Fox Valley area. Five monks live in the mission priory in Quetzaltenango , Guatemala, with a small seminary.
