Marquis de Sade (French band)

Marquis de Sade was a French post-punk band from Rennes , France . It was founded by singer Philippe Pascal and guitarist Frank Darcel and was active from 1977 to 1981. During this time, they released two albums that Billboard magazine described as very influential.

In 1981 Marquis de Sade split into two successor bands, Octobre and Marc Seberg . The group performed again on September 16, 2017 for a one-time concert in Rennes to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band's founding.
