Martha Dollein

Martha Döllein (born 1931 ; † November 2019 in Würzburg ) was a German hockey player .

Career

Martha Döllein came from Franconia. She became a member of the FC Würzburger Kickers' hockey department in the 1930s . In the first team of the club, she soon became one of the top performers. With this team she took part in the German field hockey championships six times and was German field hockey champion in 1941, 1952, 1953, 1954 and 1955.

After completing her active sports career, she volunteered for hockey, and in 1958 she became a women's manager for the Bavarian Hockey Association. In November 2019 she died - a few days before her 88th birthday - in Würzburg .

Honors

Martha Döllein was the owner of the golden city plaque of the city of Würzburg. In addition, their Federal President Theodor Heuss awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf on October 23, 1955 .
