The Martin Luther Church is the parish church of the Evangelical Lutheran Parish Postbauer-Heng .

history

The municipality had the building site in time to again-center after the merger of the municipalities and Postbauer Heng in 1971 kept free for the then still belonging to the parish Oberferrieden Protestant. The parish hall was built in 1974 in order to be able to celebrate its own Protestant church services in Postbauer-Heng. On January 1, 1983, the Evangelical Lutheran Church Community Postbauer-Heng was officially formed and in 1998 the current church center was built and inaugurated. On February 1, 1999, the parish broke away from its mother church in Oberferrieden and became independent. This makes the Martin Luther Church one of the youngest churches in Bavaria. The tower and the bells were built in 2003 by the regional bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria , Dr. Johannes Friedrich , consecrated. With the consecration, the evangelical community center was completed.

Overview and description

The parish currently has around 2200 parishioners, of which around 1000 are male and 1200 female.

In addition to the Sunday services, there are special services for families and young people in the church, as well as weekly children's services parallel to the main service. During the Passion season, weekly devotions take place after Ash Wednesday.

The church center also offers rooms for the various groups and circles. Mother-child groups, girl groups, youth groups and youth groups as well as the rehearsals of the church choir and the church band take place weekly. The senior group takes place monthly. The senior group often goes on half-day trips. The church choir often helps organize services.

In addition, the parents' initiative Kleine Strolche eV, the regional church community and the Postbauer-Heng chess club use the center's premises.

The ecumenical congregation festival, which takes place alternately in the Catholic or Protestant church center or at the Wurzhof, is also important in congregational life.

The ecumenical movement is expressed through regular ecumenical worship services, committee meetings, which also serve to exchange experiences, and neighborhood help.

The bells and the bell tower

The bells are all made from 78% copper and 22% tin. With their composition and pitch, they are coordinated with the Catholic neighboring church of St. Elisabeth and harmonize with one another. The bright and fresh-sounding bell was cast in 2003 by the Rudolf Perner bell foundry in Passau.

Sunday bell

Baptismal bell
