Martin Bottesch

Martin Bottesch (born September 27, 1953 in Großpold , Sibiu district ) is a Romanian author and local politician from the German-speaking minority of the Transylvanian Saxons .

Life

Bottesch studied mathematics at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj . He has held various leading positions at the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania (DFDR), the representative organization of the Romanian German minority, since its founding in 1990 as a volunteer.

Since 1998 he has been head of the Center for Teacher Training in German in Mediaș . Education policy has always been the focus of work. In the didactics of mathematics department and with regard to the history of the Landler , Bottesch has contributed to or published several articles, brochures and books.

Since the local elections in 2004, when the DFDR gained the majority of votes in the Sibiu district , Bottesch has held the office of district council chairman (Rum. Președinte al Consiliului Județean ). This ended in 2012.
