Martin Friedland (lawyer)

Martin Friedland , CC , QC (born September 21, 1932 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian lawyer and writer.

Friedland studied at the University of Toronto and was able to complete his studies there in 1955. He then moved to the University of Cambridge and completed a doctorate there , which he was able to successfully complete in 1965.

In 1960 Friedland was admitted to the bar in Ontario. Between 1960 and 1965 he was a lecturer at Osgoode Hall Law School and then accepted a position at the University of Toronto. His work there successfully led to his habilitation in 1968 . Between 1972 and 1979 he also served as dean there .

Friedland was later appointed as crown attorney .
