from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Martin Klessinger (born September 14, 1934 in Berlin ) is a German chemist ( organic chemistry , theoretical chemistry) who is a professor at the University of Münster .

Klessinger attended school (Birklehof) in Hinterzarten in the Black Forest and from 1953 studied chemistry at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg . He received his doctorate in 1961 under Wolfgang Lüttke in Göttingen (subject: “The chromophoric system of indigo dyes”), completed his habilitation in 1968 in Göttingen (SCGF calculations on polyatomic molecules) and in 1971 became full professor for theoretical organic chemistry in Münster.

Klessinger was particularly concerned with the photochemistry of organic molecules.
