Martin Rome

Martin Rom (born November 18, 1895 in Sankt Veit an der Glan ; † December 28, 1970 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and technical auditor . From 1947 to 1962 he was a member of the National Council .

After elementary school, Rome attended the citizen school and then graduated from the mechanical engineering college in Klagenfurt, where he learned the trade of machine fitter and lathe operator. He then worked as a foreman at the Austrian Federal Railways and technical inspector. He was politically active as a councilor and mayor in Sankt Veit an der Glan and was active within the party as a member of the state party leadership of the SPÖ Carinthia. He represented the SPÖ in the National Council between May 16, 1947 and December 14, 1962.
