Martin Schwarz Lausten

Martin Schwarz Lausten (born July 6, 1938 in Løgumkloster ) is a Danish Protestant theologian and emeritus professor of church history at the University of Copenhagen .

Lausten completed his theology studies with the candidate exam in 1965 and has since worked as a researcher at the University of Copenhagen. In 1975 he became an assistant professor and in 1977 received his doctorate on religion and politics in Christian III's foreign policy . and received a lectureship in 1989. From 1996 until his retirement in 2008 he was a professor.

Lausten has been a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences since 1999 . He is the author and editor of a seven-volume work on the relationship between the Danish Church and the Danish Jews as well as several books and essays on the history of the Reformation , some of which are also available in German translation.
