The Martini-Palais is a former town house in Augsburg .

history

The building was first mentioned in a document at the beginning of the 15th century. The property has been owned by the Martini Group since 1928 , after having changed hands several times over the centuries. It was owned by citizens , counts, town clerks and merchants. At the end of the 19th century, the Martini family initially acquired the building before it changed hands again in 1928 when the Martini textile company acquired the property. The building has been known as the Martini Palais since then.

Today there is a law firm in the building.

architecture

In 1784 the roof was refurbished and reconstructed by Johann Jakob Schüle, who created the palace from three town houses originally dating from the 15th century.

On behalf of the Martini family, the architect Jean Keller reconstructed the rear building in the courtyard of the building and the stair tower in the French Renaissance style in 1894. In 1897 the house facade facing Ulrichsplatz was renewed in the neo-baroque style with a cellar.
