Mary Katherine Campbell (born May 20, 1906 in Columbus , Ohio - † May 3, 1990 ) was the second and third Miss America in 1922 and 1923 .

Live and act

Mary Campbell graduated from high school in February 1922 and received her diploma. Shortly thereafter, she was chosen against a selection of 170 other women to Miss Columbus and then won the Inter-City elections in Atlantic City and then the title of Miss America. It was the last year that amateurs and professional models competed for the title of Miss America in various events.

In 1923 she won the Miss America election again, making her the first Miss America to graduate from high school and to date the only "Miss" to win the title twice.
