Masataka Sakamoto ( Japanese 坂 本 將 貴 Sakamoto Masataka ; born February 24, 1978 in Saitama Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .
Career
Sakamoto learned to play soccer on the school team at Urawa Higashi High School and the university team at Nippon Sport Science University . He signed his first contract in 2000 with JEF United Ichihara (today: JEF United Chiba). The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 2005 and 2006 he won the J.League Cup with the club . For the club he completed 176 top division games. In 2007 he moved to league rivals Albirex Niigata . For the club he completed 34 first division games. In 2008 he returned to JEF United Chiba . At the end of the 2009 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . For the club he completed 117 games. At the end of 2012 he ended his career as a football player.
