Maslach Burnout Inventory

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) was developed in 1981 by Christina Maslach and Susan E. Jackson and is a measuring instrument for recording burnout syndrome . It is used in approximately 90% of all published scientific studies on burnout syndrome. In the MBI the burnout syndrome is operationalized with 22 questions in three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal performance.

The MBI has been used in several specific versions since 1996 in order to be able to record the appearance of the burnout syndrome in different occupational and activity fields more precisely.
