Porzûs massacre

Partisans of the Osoppo Brigade in Topli Uork (winter 1944–45)

In the Porzûs massacre on February 7, 1945 near Porzûs ( Udine Province , Northern Italy) 17 partisans of the Osoppo Brigade, a group with a Catholic and secular- socialist orientation, were murdered by another group of partisans. The majority of these were members of the GAP (Gruppi di Azione Patriottica) , which belonged to the Communist Party of Italy . The events were and are the subject of differences of opinion and polemics regarding the client and the background.
