It belongs to the Arrondissement Dieppe and is part of the canton of Gournay-en-Bray (until 2015 Aumale ). The inhabitants are called Richemontais .

Richemont is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Léger-aux-Bois in the north and west, Saint-Martin-au-Bosc in the north and north-east, Aubéguimont in the east, Marques in the south-east and Landes-Vieilles-et-Neuves in the south and south-west.
