It belongs to the Arrondissement Dieppe and the canton of Luneray (until 2015 canton of Bacqueville-en-Caux ). The inhabitants are called Vénestanvillais .

Vénestanville is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Greuville in the north and north-east, Rainfreville in the east, Tocqueville-en-Caux in the south, Brametot in the south-west and Crasville-la-Rocquefort in the west and north-west.
