Saint-Pierre-le-Viger is a French municipality with 257 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-Maritime in the region Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dieppe , the canton of Saint-Valery-en-Caux and is part of the Côte d'Albâtre municipal association .

Saint-Pierre-le-Viger is a farming village on the Dun and is located in the Pays de Caux , a chalk plateau belonging to the Paris basin . It is 19 kilometers southwest of Dieppe .

history
On June 11 and 12, 1940, a battle took place in Veules-les-Roses , Saint-Pierre-le-Viger and Saint-Valery-en-Caux . The French and Scots fight the arrival of a tank from Erwin Rommel , the plains of Saint-Pierre-le-Viger and Houdetot are the scene of heavy fighting, the 51st (Highland) Division and the Black Watch suffered more than 50 dead and wounded the French also suffered great losses.
