Petit-Caux is a French commune with 9,553 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-Maritime in the region Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement Dieppe and the canton Dieppe-2 . The inhabitants are called Caux-Marins .

The municipality was created as Commune nouvelle as part of a regional reform on January 1, 2016 through the merger of the eighteen former municipalities of Assigny , Auquemesnil , Belleville-sur-Mer , Berneval-le-Grand , Biville-sur-Mer , Bracquemont , Brunville , Derchigny , Glicourt , Gouchaupre , Greny , Guilmécourt , Intraville , Penly , Saint-Martin-en-Campagne , Saint-Quentin-au-Bosc , Tocqueville-sur-Eu and Tourville-la-Chapelle , which are now hamlets of Petit-Caux with the status of Representing communes déléguée . Saint-Martin-en-Campagne acts as the “superordinate district” as the administrative center.

Petit-Caux is located directly on the English Channel ( Alabaster Coast ) and is about 15 kilometers east-northeast of Dieppe . Petit-Caux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Criel-sur-Mer and Touffreville-sur-Eu in the northeast, Canehan and Saint-Martin-la-Gaillard in the east, Bailly-en-Rivière in the south and southeast, Saint-Ouen-sous- Bailly , Envermeu , Bellengreville and Sauchay in the south and Ancourt , Gréges , Martin-Église and Dieppe in the southwest.

economy

There is a nuclear power plant in the districts of Penly and Saint-Martin-en-Campagne . The Penly nuclear power plant (commissioning of the two units in 1982 and 1992) provides around 80% of the annual electricity consumption in Normandy . It can be visited.
