Hautot-sur-Mer is a French commune with 1,914 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-Maritime in the region Normandy . Administratively it belongs to the Arrondissement Dieppe and is part of the canton Dieppe-1 (until 2015: canton Offranville ). The inhabitants are called Hautotais .

geography

Hautot-sur-Mer is about four kilometers west or southwest of Dieppe on the Alabaster Coast on the English Channel . Here the Scie flows into the English Channel. Hautot-sur-Mer is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Dieppe in the east, Saint-Aubin-sur-Scie in the southeast, Offranville in the south and Varengeville-sur-Mer in the west.

In 1822 the municipalities of Appeville-le-Petit and Pourville were incorporated.
