history

The place name is derived from the French chévre for goat , which is symbolized by two goats in the coat of arms; court stands for place or place . In Latin the place was called capricurtis .
Quièvrecourt's massive church dates from the 11th and 13th centuries. It is dedicated to Saint Ribert ( Robert of Newminster ).
In July 1944, a bomb destroyed the nave. It was rebuilt after the end of the war.
Three bells ring in the bell tower. To the right of the altar is the small Saint-Apolline chapel. Many pilgrims used to come here to seek relief from toothache.

Economy and Infrastructure

Quièvrecourt was rather rural until the 20th century. There are still ten farms in the municipality (mainly cattle breeding and the production of meat, eggs, wool, milk and cheese - here mainly the Neufchâtel variety ). Due to the low number of children, the local primary school had to be closed. There is also no longer a café / tobacco shop. The direct proximity to the small town of Neufchâtel-en-Bray made it possible to compensate for these losses. What has remained is a carpentry, a painting business, a tile trading business and a seed company.

The A28 autoroute leads through the south of the community area with its own connection. The nearest train station is in Aumale, 23 kilometers away, with connections to Mers-les-Bains and Rouen . .
