Penly is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Petit-Caux with 493 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Seine-Maritime in the region Normandy .

geography

Penly lies on the English Channel on the chalk cliffs of the Alabaster coast at an altitude of 114  m . Penly has an area of ​​406 hectares.

history

Penly was mentioned as Pentoi in 1028 , and in 1059 in connection with a foundation that concerned the then Church of Penly and the Abbey of Le Tréport .

The municipality of Penly was merged with 17 other municipalities to form Commune nouvelle Petit-Caux on January 1st, 2016 . Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée.
