The Boris Nemtsov Foundation for Freedom is a non-profit, limited liability company based in Bonn , which was founded to commemorate the life's work of the Russian statesman Boris Nemtsov . The founder is the eldest daughter of Boris Nemtsov, Shanna Borissovna Nemtsova .
Objective and tasks
The Boris Nemzow Foundation for Freedom gGmbH is intended to contribute to the promotion of education, freedom and progressive development. In particular:
- the education and freedom of information
- the training and professional development
- the German-Russian dialogue
- promoting European values
- Activities in memory of Boris Nemtsov

Boris Nemtsov Prize
The foundation has awarded the Boris Nemtsov Prize since 2016. In cooperation with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, the award is given to a person who is particularly committed to the fight for freedom of expression and to helping people persecuted politically, racially or religiously. The award can be given to prominent people, journalists and artists . The winner is selected by the Board of Trustees.

Boris Nemtsov Center for Research on Russia
The Boris Nemtsov Academic Center for Russia Research was founded together with the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague . The center will function as an expert platform and collaborate with the other research and academic centers. In addition, public lectures, scientific seminars and conferences with the participation of Russian and international intellectuals will be organized there.
The center is managed by Aleksandr Morozov and Marek Przhigoda. On February 8, 2018, the center opened in the philosophical faculty. The academic center started working on March 1, 2018.
