Matthias Hieber

Matthias Hieber is a German mathematician. He is a professor at the Mathematics Department at the Technical University of Darmstadt and heads the Applied Analysis working group.

Life

He received his doctorate in 1989 with his mathematical thesis Integrated semigroups and differential operators on Lp at the University of Tübingen . Since at least 2000 he has headed the Applied Analysis working group at TU Darmstadt.

Scientific work

Hieber is primarily concerned with hydrodynamics , a subject between mathematics and physics. He has published over 80 articles on the subject so far.
