Gospel according to Matthias

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gospel according to Matthias is a New Testament apocryphal writing from the first half of the 2nd century, which is attested by mentions in Origen , Eusebius of Caesarea and Beda Venerabilis . According to Zahn and Schneemelcher, there are four quotations from Clemens of Alexandria . These are not clearly of Gnostic origin, but have been misused by various sects.
