Maurice Auguste Régimbart (* 1852 in Évreux ; † September 22, 1907 ibid) was a French entomologist .

Régimbart was a doctor. He received his doctorate in Paris in 1877 (De l'emploi de l'essence de térébenthine en thérapeutique). He lived in Evreux.

He dealt mainly with beetles , and here aquatic beetles of the families Dytiscidae (swimming beetles), Gyrinidae (tumbler beetles) and Hydrophilidae (water beetles). He founded the family of the damp beetles (Hygrobiidae).

Régimbart described numerous new species and, with David Sharp , was a leading expert on swimming beetles in his day. A little later (from 1910) Alois Zimmermann (with Leopold Gschwendtner ) and Félix Guignot emerged in this field.

In addition to native species, he described those from South America, Africa, Madagascar, Burma, India and Indochina.

His collection is in the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle .
