Max Antonio Burgués Terán

Max Antonio Burgués Terán (born June 11, 1953 in Spain ) is a former Costa Rican entrepreneur, politician and diplomat.

Life

Max Antonio Burgués Terán is married to Lucía Escalante. In 1987 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs. From 1988 to 1990 he was Minister of Economy in the government of Óscar Arias Sánchez . In 1995 he was chairman of the Cámara de Exportadores de Costa Rica (CA-DEXCO Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce). From 1999 to 2003 he was treasurer of the Partido Liberación Nacional . From July 15, 2007 to December 1, 2010, he was ambassador to Beijing .
