Max Walter (* 1912 ; † 1975 ) was a German gymnast for TSG Weinheim .

Career

Walter was next to Willi Stadel and Franz Beckert the third strongest gymnast from Baden and next to Franz Eschwei one of the strongest gymnasts at TSG Weinheim. As members of the Baden squad, both won the German team championship four times from 1938 to 1941. In 1938 he also won the Baden Gymnastics Championships in 1938 .

In 1934 he and Eschwei were officially nominated as candidates for the 1936 Olympic Games, as were the Weinheim gymnast Margot Benefitberger-Hammer and the handball player Leonhard Schwöbel, who also belongs to the club .

Walter took part in numerous competitions, for example in a district comparison match for North Baden in 1936 and in the Baden championships in apparatus gymnastics in 1937. On April 28, 1940, Walter was part of the Baden division team together with Anton Kippert , Emil Anna , Hans Pludra , Karl Stadel , Franz Beckert and Willi Stadel German team champions in apparatus gymnastics . In the all-around competition at the German Gymnastics Championships held in Karlsruhe in 1941 , Walter, now a member of the Air Force , came 19th.
