Kinderjoy is a product by the Italian company Ferrero . Collectors in Germany also use the general term Maxi Ei.

The maxi egg is larger than the well-known surprise egg , but it also contains a capsule with a surprise, made of brown / white chocolate. The Maxi Egg was first launched in Germany in the 1970s. After a break in sales from the 1980s to 1996, it appeared again in Germany in spring 1996. Each Easter in egg shape, on Halloween and Christmas in ball shape. The Maxi Egg was discontinued for Halloween a few years ago. The egg weighs approx. 150 g, in winter 2008 the Ferrero company also took the second form of maxi eggs from the market and launched a smaller maxi egg with a weight of 100 g.

Figures and other toys

Since 2008, the smaller Maxi eggs have been sold at Easter and Christmas - with an average of five to six pieces. In addition to Austria and Switzerland, the new Maxi eggs (from 2008) are also available in other EU countries . Some of the content, such as the Happy Hippo Wedding (in the larger Maxi Egg) and the Happy Hippo Talent Show (in the smaller Maxi Egg) comes from André Roche , a well-known draftsman of Kinder Surprise (ÜEI) characters. The puzzles from the Maxi Egg are particularly popular with collectors; they came from the Ravensburger company in the 1990s . The content mostly relates to a specific topic or series from the surprise egg. An instruction leaflet is enclosed with each content and is kept by collectors.
