Mechthild Hellermann

Mechthild Hellermann (born November 6, 1947 in Lingen (Ems) ) founded the Schwelmer model in 1987 , an outpatient form of therapy for the treatment of neurodermatitis and other allergies .

Due to her daughter's severe neurodermatitis, the pedagogue Mechthild Hellermann first founded a self-help group from which a new therapeutic approach emerged. She is the author of guidebooks on atopic dermatitis and specialist articles. Mechthild Hellermann was a member of the Allergy Prevention Action Alliance (ABAP) of the Federal Ministry of Health from 2004 to 2006.
