The medal-awarded folk art collective of the German Democratic Republic was a state award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated on August 26, 1974. The medal could only be awarded to collectives and on the basis of collective commitments in the field of artistic creation, exemplary cultural and political achievements as well as artistic achievements were made. The maximum number of awards was strictly limited and was only three awards per city district or district annually.

At a lower level, the optically similar medal was awarded to the outstanding folk art collective of the GDR .
