medical genetics is a journal for human genetics . It is published by the German Society for Human Genetics (GfH). It is the official organ of the GfH, the Austrian Society for Human Genetics (ÖGH), the Swiss Society for Medical Genetics (SGMG) and the Professional Association of German Human Genetics (BVDH). It has been published quarterly since 1989, initially by Medical Genetics, and now by Springer Medizin Verlag Heidelberg. Their circulation is 1,400 copies.
The main topics are medicine and biology in the area of genome research. Articles from research, clinical practice and industrial application are published. In addition, ethical, legal and political contributions to the discussion are published from primary sources. Furthermore, news from industry and institutions are reported and conference reports are brought. Contact addresses and guidelines for quality management are also listed.
The impact factor in 2015 was 0.086. According to the statistics of the ISI Web of Knowledge , it is 165th out of 165 journals in the field of "Genetics and Heredity".
