Gvirc

Gvirc is a drink made with honey . First, the so-called created Medovina that about 2-3% alcohol (includes kroat . "Med" , "honey" ). After further processing, the Gvirc is obtained, which roughly corresponds to the strength of a wine, i.e. contains approx. 10–12% alcohol. Both drinks are served cold and with ice and are therefore very refreshing. Medovina and Gvirc are particularly enjoyed in Međimurje and Hrvatsko Zagorje , in the north of Croatia. These sweet drinks are especially consumed at church feasts ( Proštenje ) or pilgrimages .
