Medunion

The Medunion was an institution formed in 1973 by the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance , with its seat in Budapest . As an international trade association, your task was to structure the coordination of trade in medical technology .

Its members were Hungary , represented by Medicor , the German Democratic Republic , represented by Intermed , Poland , represented by Varimpex , the Soviet Union , represented by Medexport and Czechoslovakia , represented by Cirana .

Areas of responsibility were the coordination of foreign trade with medical technology towards the western states, the avoidance of ineffective parallel production by coordinating the production facilities, as well as mutual support for new technical developments.
