Megumi Yabushita
Megumi Yabushita ( Japanese 藪 下 め ぐ み Yabushita Megumi ; born March 2, 1972 in Asahikawa ) is a Japanese mixed martial arts fighter, kickboxer, professional wrestler and judoka. She participated in various Japanese wrestling and MMA promotions.
Life
Her father introduced her to judo before she started elementary school. Yabushita graduated from Asahikawa University affiliated high school, where she won the judo team competitions in 1988 and 1989 in the 48 kg class. She won the All-Japan Singles Championships in 1993.
She celebrated various successes in judo and took part in the 1995 World Cup. She made her debut against Sumie Sakai. Also made her MMA debut in 1997 at the CWA Octagon Challenge, which she won against Yu Jihei. Left the JD in 2002 to focus more on MMA fights. She mainly fought for Smackgirl.
