Mehdi Meriah (born June 5, 1979 in Ariana ) is a former Tunisian football player who was most recently under contract with Club Africain and played for the Tunisian national team. Mehdi Meriah played as a defender , but was also often used as a midfielder . On July 1, 2009, Mehdi Meriah entered into a 3-year contract with Club Africain in Tunis, where he ended his career early on January 1, 2012 in the 2011/12 season.
He was in Roger Lemerre's squad at the 2006 World Cup in Germany . However, he had to travel home before the first game. He was replaced by Haykel Gmamdia from the French first division relegated Racing Strasbourg because of a leg injury .
