Multi-purpose vehicle (rescue service)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A multi-purpose vehicle (MZF) is the name given to an ambulance in the rescue service , which is used for both emergency rescue and patient transport . This multi-purpose vehicle system therefore stands out from the usual practice in Germany, ambulances for the ambulance and rescue vehicles , ambulances and emergency ambulance to use for emergency rescue. Since multi-purpose vehicles are therefore suitable for emergency rescue, it must be at least a type B ambulance, or better an ambulance (type C). For cost reasons, however, the somewhat smaller emergency ambulances are usually used. This is why emergency ambulance vehicles are often referred to as multi-purpose vehicles in the rescue service, although they are not used as such. The advantage of the multi-purpose vehicle system is that the rescue vehicles can be used more flexibly and multi-purpose vehicles that find an emergency patient in the ambulance service, at best, do not have to request any further rescue equipment. The biggest disadvantage is the higher personnel costs, since the vehicles have to be manned by at least one paramedic or paramedic, even for patient transport, and the equipment is more expensive.
