Meidlinger Kaserne (historical)
The Meidlinger Kaserne was located at Schönbrunner Strasse 293 in the 12th district of Vienna .
It was built as a cavalry barracks from 1835 to 1837 and expanded again and again until 1851. The common army had two cavalry squadrons stationed here around 1905. The military use ended after use by armed forces and armed forces 1945. 1973 was demolished the building and in 1979 replaced by a residential building.
Since the history of these former cavalry barracks is hardly known today, it is sometimes confused in military historiography with the Meidlinger Kaserne (formerly: Meidlinger Trainkaserne ) that still exists today .
