The Krimskykaserne was located in the 3rd district of Vienna in Baumgasse.

In 1847/48 the soap maker Josef Krimsky built a candle factory on Baumgasse No. 152 (today: ON 37-39), which he offered as a rental or purchase property a few years later. In 1859, the property was from kk Militärärar acquired, 1860 as artillery kaserne adapted. From 1908 onwards, the building was home to the second but less prominent house regiment of the City of Vienna, namely the Austro-Hungarian Artillery Division No. 2 ("Wiener Reitende"). The riding arena of the Krimsky barracks, which Dehio calls the first Viennese sports hall, was built in Baumgasse 24 and Hyegasse 1 in 1900.

In 1925 the barracks was torn down to make way for the community housing known today as the “ Rabenhof ” .

In the winter of 2005/2006, the former riding hall, an elongated single-storey hall building, was also torn down.
