The Meisel Group of Companies are a German music publishing group with headquarters in Berlin .

Meisel Musikverlage was founded by the German operetta and film composer Will Meisel under the name Edition Meisel & Co. GmbH . Edition Meisel & Co. was already publishing works by artists such as Walter Kollo , Fred Raymond and Gerhard Winkler in the 1930s .

In the early 1960s, Will Meisel withdrew from the publishing house, and his sons Peter and Thomas Meisel (1940-2014), who were only 20 and 25 years old at the time, took over the publishing business. Under her direction very successful titles of German pop music were published, including titles by Christian Bruhn , Frank Farian (also all titles by Boney M. ), Gunter Gabriel and Drafi Deutscher .

Meisel Musikverlage also owns the Monopol music label , which publishes works by Helga Hahnemann , Max Raabe and the Palastorchester or the Schöneberg Boys' Choir .

Since 1998, Sven Meisel (1966–2016) has been a member of the third generation as managing director of Meisel Music Publishing.
