Master of the Haintz Fool

A woodcut master who worked in Basel around 1490 is referred to as the master of the Haintz Narr . He created between 15 or 56 of a total of 158 woodcuts for Sebastian Brant's ship of fools printed in Basel in 1494 . He got his emergency name after the woodcut inscribed with Haintz-nar in the 5th chapter of this work. The master was involved in the illustration of various works, mainly printed in Basel, for several years.
