Residence certificate and registration certificate (in Switzerland and Austria also statement of establishment , residence certificate or confirmation of residence), various specific types of information from the population register .

The registration certificate is used to confirm either a current or a previous place of residence.

The certificate of residence is a written confirmation of certain data stored in the register of residents that is required for submission to authorities (e.g. registry office , probate court ). The difference to the registration certificate is that the residence certificate contains the marital status, the nationality, the religion and the number of children in addition to the data of the place of residence / s. It is a special form of information from the population register . Residence certificates are required by various authorities, banks, employers and others as proof of the current registration situation.
