Melvin Manhoef (born May 11, 1976 in Paramaribo , Suriname ) is a Dutch - Surinamese Muay Thai kickboxer and mixed martial arts fighter.

Characteristics of his fighting style are aggressiveness and his enormous punching power. He is currently training in Amsterdam .

biography

Manhoef was born in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname. At the age of three, he and his family moved to Rotterdam, the Netherlands . In his youth he preferred to play football until his younger brother Moreno introduced him to the art of muay thai. He quickly signed up for the gym in the city of Zaandam and began professional training there.

At the age of 18 Manhoef had his first fight, which went to him with a point decision. In the course of his career Manhoef was able to secure four titles in MMA and kickboxing. He regularly appears at K-1 , Dream, and It's Showtime events. In addition to the titles, his repeated participation in the K-1 World Grand Prix Finals were his greatest successes.
