The South German soccer championship 1904/05 of the Association of South German Soccer Clubs won for the fifth time in a row by the Karlsruher FV , since 1. FC Hanau had only two players in the South German final in 1893 , Karlsruhe was declared the winner. This was the fifth win in the southern German soccer championship for the Karlsruhe team, who qualified for the German soccer championship in 1904/05 . There they reached the final of the German football championship after victories over Duisburger SpV and a bye in the semifinals. The opponent in Cologne's Weidenpescher Park was Union 92 Berlin . The Karlsruhe star line-up, led by Ivo Schricker , did not get along with the cheeky attacking BTuFC-Elf in this game and were already 0-1 behind after 10 minutes, in the end Union 92 won 2-0.

Mode and overview

At this season, the individual regional Gauligen were again divided into a north and a south district. From this season onwards, the Gaumeister qualified no longer directly for the southern German finals, but for the finals of the respective district. The two district champions then played the southern German soccer champions in a final.

Contrary to what the name suggests, no Palatinate clubs took part in the championship. In the final round, 1. Hanauer FC 93 prevailed and qualified for the South German final. After the VSFV round, a city championship of the Frankfurter Association Bund was held in Frankfurt , which was won by the FSV Frankfurt .

    Southern district

The southern district master was determined in a simple round of the four regional gaume masters. In Central Baden and Swabia, the "series champions" Karlsruher FV and Stuttgarter Kickers prevailed, on the Upper Rhine the Alsatian club FC Mülhausen 1893 . As in the previous year, the Munich City Championship was won by FC Bayern , who, however, decided not to take part in the finals. The Karlsruher FV won their finals without conceding a goal and thus defended their title.

In Nuremberg and Fürth, the Nuremberg-Fürth Football Association , which had recently been founded, organized an organized competition for the first time. An autumn and a spring championship were held, both of which 1. FC Nürnberg won. In contrast, no Franconian club took part in the southern German championship .

Final game for the southern German championship
