The southern German soccer championship of 1925/26 of the South German Soccer Association was won by FC Bayern Munich . It was the first southern German championship title for the Munich team, which qualified them for the German soccer championship 1925/26 . Vice-champions SpVgg also qualified for the final round of the German soccer championship . Fürth as well as the final third FSV Frankfurt . FC Bayern failed in this year's German soccer championship in the round of 16, FSV Frankfurt in the quarter-finals. The SpVgg. Fürth was able to advance to the final, defeating Hertha BSC there and becoming German football champions for the second time since 1914.
The district leagues formed the top divisions in southern Germany. During this season, 40 teams were divided into five district leagues. The five district champions and the southern German cup winner qualified for the final round of the southern German championship. Since the leagues were increased to ten teams for the 1926/27 season of the South German Football Championship , there were comparatively few relegated teams.
