Menaichmos of Sicyon
Menaichmos of Sicyon was an ancient Greek historian of the second half of the 4th century BC. Chr.
There is a local history of his hometown Sikyon (Sikyonaka) preserved in a few fragments . Pausanias , among other things, builds on this. A story of Alexander is also lost. Menaichmos was more of a polyhistor than a mere historian. Among other things, he also wrote works on music and poetry. Traces of a total of seven works can be found in the records, although only fragments or titles have been passed down.
The fragments are collected in The Fragments of the Greek Historians , No. 131 and in Brill's New Jacoby , No. 131 (there with English translation, commentary and all personal details).
