Menhir from Bordastubble
The menhir of Bordastubble (also called Loch of Bordastubble menhir, menhir of Burn of Vinstrick or menhir of Lund) is the largest menhir ( English standing stone ) of the Scottish Shetland Islands . It stands on a side road of the A968 near Underhoull in the south of the island of Unst , the northernmost inhabited island of the Shetlands. The stone is listed as a Scheduled Monument .
The massive, irregularly shaped, sloping stone is about 3.6 meters high. It has a circumference of about 5.85 meters at its base and 1.2 meters above the ground with a maximum circumference of about 6.6 meters.
Nearby is the "Gunnister Stone" (also called Hamarbeg).
